Meadows & Ohly Charlotte office takes a day to serve the community.

Every year, both Meadows & Ohly branches choose an organization or person with a serious need in the community. The Charlotte office and Building Managers recently took a day to assist Stephanie, a single mom living in the Charlotte community. Since buying her home in 2000, she has had several break-ins, but continuously maintains a sunny disposition along with an optimistic outlook for the future. The home was in need of several minor repairs which have accumulated over the years while Stephanie works two jobs in order to pay the bills and support her child.Bo McFalls, a Meadows & Ohly Building Manager, heard of her plight and suggested that the company use their resources to complete several items on her wish list. The team accomplished an enormous amount of work in one day including: installing new carpet in the living room, new wood flooring in the dining room, replacing several light receptacles, ceiling fans, sinks and faucets, new blinds, rebuilding a wooden deck, removing a rotted awning, painting all doors and windows, planting new landscaping for the entire front yard, installing a gated fence, HVAC repairs/maintenance and installing new kitchen cabinets that were built by a Meadows & Ohly vendor/partner. In addition, Stephanie’s bedroom was given a fresh coat of paint to brighten up the room.  Overall, a total of ten partners and one Meadows & Ohly client, contributed their time and resources to make the Day of Service a success. The improvements have made the house feel like a home again for Stephanie and her daughter.
